New Zealand Certificate in Youth Leadership

Kia ora and welcome!
We are looking forward to supporting you as you complete your New Zealand Certificate in Youth Leadership this year. The certificate starts with a mandatory 3-day Block Course in May with five assessments completed via self-directed distance study.
Take a look at the FAQ's tab for some extra info that may be helpful. If you have a question, please email us on cert@24-7youthwork.nz.
We have partnered with Careerforce to provide the certificate. Most assessments are short answer questions. The Youth Development Project and Risk Management Planning (Assessment #9) requires a bit more planning as you need to write up an event you have run in the last few months.
Everything is accessed through this online platform - you can download the Word document Assessments, type directly into the document, save the file and then upload it back to the website. Once the assessment has been submitted, your Team Leader will get a notification you have submitted your assessment and the Assessor will also be notified telling them it is ready to mark. For three assessments Ethical Youth Work, Supporting a Young Person and Project and Risk Management, your Team Leader will need to verify your work, so when you submit that particular assessment, your Team Leader will get a notification telling them to verify your work. They will fill out a verification form online and submit it. This will then go straight to the Assessor to mark. Your result will be given to you as soon as possible. You will see where things are at through the status bar on the bottom of your assessment.
Please make sure you read all the instructions on the assessment, and take a look at the resources available to assist you in completing your work, these are listed at the beginning of each assessment. Refer to the markers schedule at the end of each assessment to see what you are being marked on. Make sure you have answered each question!
As assessments are uploaded, they are put through an internal plagiarism website which checks the originality of the paper being submitted, allowing for answers that are generic to everyone. We don't expect full referencing or a Bibliography, but if you do refer to an external source, please note this in your assessment.
We encourage you to put aside 1-2 hours of work time weekly to complete your assessments. If there are more than one of you from your team doing this qualification, it may want to form a study group. Remember that you are being paid to study during work hours so there's no excuses that you have no time!
